How to apply for funding

We welcome enquiries from organisations of all sizes, and you do not need to be a registered charity to apply. If your project aims to benefit people in genuine need — whether that is children and young people, older people, people with disabilities, or communities facing hardship — we would be glad to hear from you.

We consider funding applications of all sizes. There is no minimum or maximum grant amount.

Who can apply?

Our process

Step 1 - Get in touch

Send us a short email introducing your organisation and the project you would like us to consider. You do not need a formal application at this stage — just a brief description of what you do, who you support, and what the funding would be used for. Email us at info@naglefamilyfoundation.com or fill in the form at the bottom of the page.

Step 2 - Initial review

The trustees will review your enquiry. If your project looks like a potential fit with our aims, we will get back to you — usually within four weeks.

Step 3 - Conversation

We like to speak with the people behind the work before going further. This might be a phone call or a short meeting. It is a chance for us to understand your project more deeply, and for you to ask us questions too.

Step 4 - Formal application

If both sides would like to proceed, we will ask you to complete a formal application. We will tell you exactly what to include at that point.

Step 5 - Trustee decision

Applications are reviewed by the trustees. We will let you know the outcome, and if approved, funding will be arranged with you directly.

We fund projects based in the British Isles and Ireland that benefit:

Who we can support

To help you decide whether an application is right for us, please note that we do not fund:

  • Religious organisations or faith-based activities

  • Political campaigns or advocacy

  • Projects based outside the British Isles and Ireland

  • Retrospective funding (projects already completed)

What we do not fund

If you are unsure whether your project fits our aims, please get in touch anyway. We are happy to have an informal conversation before you invest time in an application.
